Menu item type in Joomla defines type of page which will display when user select any menu item. As menu item is link to that particular page and menu item type determines the type of that page. For eg if user select category list so it list all the articles associated to that category or if its single article then it direct user to that single article page.

Following are the list of few menu item type in Joomla.

1 Featured articles menu item type: It display all set of featured articles.

2 Category List menu item type: it create page that will display the list of all articles which belong to specific category.

3 Category blog: It display the article introductions from a specific category.

4 Archived articles: It display the list of all archived articles.
