What is GIS: Geographic Information System
A geography information system (GIS) is a software tool which is used for analysing and surveying geographic information and occurrence(events) that occurs on Earth. These tools allow users to capture, store, edit, manage and display spatial data that means the data related to positions on Earths surface. GIS has a feature that can display different data on one(single) map, such as buildings, roads, vegetation & rivers. This enables the people to easily see, examine, and understand patterns and relations among spatial data. The map which we see on our phone or internet is using GIS technology.

GIS tells that every object on earth has its location which can be represented by a, b and c value means latitude, longitude and altitude respectively. Along with this GIS also stores some other information about the object for example for a particular state/city it can include data about people, such as income, population or education level. It can include information about the sites of factories, hospitals, schools, roads and electric power lines. GIS provides many applications which can be used for planning, management, transport, insurance, telecommunications, and business. GIS is useful for almost all organizations of any size and almost every industry.

    GIS is helpful in :

1.Researches and Decision Making : For the success of many Business plans location is very important. For such Business plans GIS technology provides efficient way for making better decisions. For examples : In Real estate Business one can easily select the better site using GIS technology or In transport Industry one can select better route using GIS technology. GIS technology can also help scientists to analyse the Impact of change climate in the Ice of the polar region by studying satellite data .

2.Record Keeping : Some government departments and private firms use to maintain accurate information about the status and change of geography. GIS provides a structure for handling such types of data with all the business support and tools.

3.GIS helps:It helps in many business to determine where to locate a new store. Scientists can use GIS technology to track the population growth against the future needs such as water resources, Home Projects, Electricity. Using GIS technology we have no limit to the information which can be analyse.
