In 2009, WhatsApp was founded by two Yahoo! Former employees, Brian Acton and Jan Koum. Since then, there was no looking back for them. Whatsapp added 1 million users every day, and now Whatsapp has around 450 millions users, which indeed a large number of users.
Before the launch of Whatsapp webapp, when someone asked me how to run Whatsapp on a PC or laptop, my answer was install an Android emulator like Bluestacks. However, but BlueStack has a lot of complex requirements, which often left users irritated. Some of the requirements to install BlueStacks on your PC are:
- PC at least have 4 GB of free Disk Space that's a huge one.
- Minimum 2GB RAM is required to install Bluestacks in your PC
- DirectX 9.0 or higher version must be installed on your PC.
- You preferably have a Graphic Card for smooth running of Bluestack software
- Your computer Graphic drivers must be updated for compatible to Bluestacks
- You must have Admin rights of PC

After reading so much requirements, one must thank to Whatsapp for creating a Web app interface for its users.
Although there are requirements to run Whatsapp in your browsers, they are very simple that almost all have already them.
Prerequisite to run Whatsapp on Web:
- Obviously, an active Whatsapp account on your camera mobile Phone.
- Internet connectivity on Mobile and PC
- Latest version of your web browsers like Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari.
Now, below are some steps to run Whatsapp Web app on your PC or Laptop:
- Open Whatsapp on your phone.
- Authorization/ Connecting Web app to your mobile device: There are some slight changes in establishing a connection for different mobile operating systems.
- For iPhone: Open Whatsapp to Settings from there press WhatsApp Web.
- For Android: in the Chats screen, go to Menu and from there press WhatsApp Web.
- For BlackBerry: go to Chats > Menu > WhatsApp Web.
- For Windows Phone and Nokia Series 60 phones : go to Menu > WhatsApp Web.
- For Nokia S40 OS: Swipe up from bottom of screen > WhatsApp Web.
- For BlackBerry 10 OS: Swipe down from top of the screen > WhatsApp Web.
- With the help of your phone camera, scan the QR Code appearing on the screen of your PC.
- You can check which computer/ OS is logged in from your account
- At anytime you can logout from all the computers with just a finger press ahead.
