Its official and it's out - The iPhone 7 will be launched on September 7. Apple has put an end to all the rumours that circulated over the launch of iPhone 7 series. Apple sent out the media invites confirming the time and date of the mobile phone launch. The event is scheduled at San Francisco based ‘Bill Graham Civic Auditorium’ on Wednesday September 7th.

Apple often likes to include ‘a hidden message; as the part of its launch strategy. For 7 series, it was more than astonishing, “See you on 7th” - it may allude to the name iPhone 7 as well its launch date. It is confirmed from the internal sources that pre-orders for the mobile handset will be taking place on September 9 with apple iPhone 7 release date on September 16. Apple could launch iPhone 7 series in three models - iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 7 Pro. Also, 2nd Gen Apple Watch could also feature alongside the new iPhone models.

Apple is saving all GREAT changes with iPhone 7

Year 2016 has not actually worked for Apple Inc. Though, iPhone 6 sold surprisingly well. For the first time in the history, iPhone sales declined. iPhone 6 sale broke nearly all records beating everything that came before it. Success of iPhone 6 put Apple in leading position with respect to the brand appeal and overall sales. It’s success was like a feather in the cap for Apple Inc. The iPhone 6s, though, was not — sales were down some 10 million less than its forebearer. For the first time in 13 years Apple saw such surge in sales numbers. It caused a huge agitation in the minds of the analysts and investors who first claimed that Apple’s growth and sales cavalcade was unstoppable. What’s worst, Apple’s chief competitors Samsung and LG came out guns blazing by launching LG G5 and Galaxy S7 to reap profits over Apple’s degrading reputation. Analyst believed that, Apple is seemingly reserving GREAT changes for 2017’s iPhone 7 series.

Three iPhone 7 models? or just another iPhone 6 variant

As per the reports, it is expected that apple will launch three iPhone 7 models, namely iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 7 Pro. iPhone 7 is expected to have 4.7-inch screen whereas the other models will have a 5.5 inch display. It is also expected that iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 7 Pro will come with similar specifications, except the later will come equipped with a dual rear camera.

However, some reports also suggest that Apple won’t be releasing the 7 series this year instead it’ll be releasing another iPhone 6 variant.

Possible Design

iPhone 7 is expected to get an essential physical redesign. It is likely to be made thinner than ever, especially after removing the headphone jack. Fans can use the headphones that connect through the Lightening port or wireless Bluetooth headphones. One prominent research site, claims to have got hold of Lightening to 3.5mm adaptor that comes bundled with iPhone 7. Other major tweaks can include a flush camera and the removal of antenna bars. iPhone 7s can come with a curved OLED display and an ALL-GLASS frame, front and back. This means that overall design, look and function will be remarkably different than the other existing models.  

Another talked about feature is Apple getting rid of Home button. However with the development of AMOLED display technology and 3D touch, Apple might also try to implement a Home Key inside the display instead of fully removing it. It might also come embedded with LiFi, which is capable of transmitting the content or information, a hundred times faster than a WiFi.  

16GB storage to be phased out

16GB storage is likely to be phased out as the lowest storage option. If you are switching from Android, you might find 16GB storage nowhere near enough in this age. It’s heavily rumored that iPhone 7 will start with 32GB of storage offerings. Recent reports also hint that a 256GB storage option will also be available for iPhone 7.

USB-C Port - Much likely

Just like the new 12-inch MacBook, the iPHone 7 could get a USB-C port. Apple released Lightening for a number of good reasons, like, data exchange capacity, physical size, power capacity, etc. USB Type-C achieves all these things even better. If Apple Inc. is willing to adopt latest technology in high speed charging and data transfer, they will surely include USB Type-C in the 7 series.

iPhone 7 may not be made from metal, but with some other material that can easily allow the radio waves to pass through. iPhone 7 might be constructed using liquidmetal. Use of liquid metal will remove the two plastic strips that runs through the back of present generations iPhones, this will allow the mobile signals to reach antennas. Liquid Metal is a type of alloy which is tougher and more water resistant than an ordinary aluminium. If these speculations are true, the misery of dropping an iPhone into a pool of water could soon be over. It is expected that iPhone 7 will be water resistant for up to 30 minutes and to a  depth of one meter.

New Colors and Upgraded Processor

iPhone 7 is likely to come in varied colours - including all new ‘Deep Blue’ and ‘Gold’ version. New iPhone will likely arrive with iOS 10 software and a next-gen A10 processor which could be as fast as 2.4Ghz. If this rumor is true, Apple will have a huge advantage and a dramatic increase to its existing A9 chipset.
