The new Mac Pro was recently unveiled at the WMDC 2019. Probably it was the most awaited unveiling from Apple that everyone was waiting for. Now the change in design has been appreciated by many people. But also it is widely criticized. Previous year mac pro had what people called a ‘trash can” design. Now I would call this year’s design a certain somewhat improved over the last years.

But what does really the new Mac Pro brings to the table? If I have to answer this question in one word then I would say ‘power’. The company offers the model in as high as 28 core configuration and also up to 1.5TB of RAM. Yeah, right even, most of us have max 1Tb of storage in their laptops. The company does offer his specs but the price is still what I’ll say ‘too premium’. The basic price of the laptop starts at $5,999 and varies depending upon which type of specifications you want.

Apple has even offered 8 PCIe slots in addition to the standard array of connectors -2 USB ports, 3 Thunderbolt ports, 2 ethernet ports.

This whole powerful setup needs 300W power to keep it running. So to ensure things run smoothly Apple offers 1.4kW of power supply. All these make any machine feel easily like a live gas stove, so to keep the machine cool Apple has added 3 big cooling fans at the back and also the CPU is equipped with liquid cooling. So, you can use your Mac Pro at maximum capacity as many hours as you want.

The new Mac Pro is definitely launched for the content creators those who need a very powerful machine at their desk for quick video rendering and smooth editing. Apple offers AMD Radeon Pro 580X in the base version but if you feel that it is low you can upgrade your device with the more powerful AMD Radeon Pro Vega II. Apple has made possible for you to install four GPUs running in pair of two giving you a bandwidth of 32GB and speed of 56 teraflops combined.

Also, the company has introduced a new display to go with the Mac pro. The display offers 240Hz of refresh rate which carries a price tag of $4,999. Obviouxsly with all these graphics centered activities you indeed need a display that can show your amazing end results in their true form.

For video editors, Apple has introduced a new optional graphics accelerator card called Apple Afterburner. The card is capable of  decoding up to 6.3 billion pixels per second and enables playback of three streams of 8K ProRes RAW videos simultaneously.

“With Afterburner, video editors using high-quality cameras that require the conversion of native file formats into proxies for easy editing can now use native formats right from the camera,” Apple says.

Apple's display is one of its kind as it is the world's first 6K display. Also, it comes with mind-blowing 6 billion per second graphics processing capability. It boasts1,600 nits of maximum brightness and can offer 1,000 nits of brightness indefinitely. This all became possible due to the new vented design in the back of the monitor.

The contrast the ratio of the display is 100000:1 that is I million to one. If you are an everyday user and don't want to spend this much on a display it's ok. The display is not for everybody, those in video production will crave for a monitor like this as it is nothing short of a 'reference point' for all monitors out there.

There is also a pair of wheels available so that you can move your CPU easily. There is a handle on top of the CPU using it you can open the whole CPU easily. Apple has provided users the option to buy a stand for the 6K display

The base price of introductory Mac Pro is $5,999 which offers 8- core Intel Xeon CPU, 32GB RAM, and 256GB Solid State Drive (SSD). This can be upgraded up to 28-cores and 1.5TB of RAM, this will drive the price as high as $30,000. You can also add another AMD Radeon Pro Vega II making it a pair for $40,000.

As per news, the Mac Pro will be available from next ‘Fall 2019’ means it will be available in between September and November. Whatever the launch date is, based upon the price tag Apple’s gonna have a hard time looking for potential buyers other than some Apple fans.
