    Hello Readers …

By this blog i am explaining the distinguish between ‘Alpha Testing’, ‘Beta Testing’ and ‘Gamma Testing’. These three types of testing are very important in the software testing field. Please see the details mentioned in the below --

    Alpha Testing:-

Alpha testing behaves just like as a usability testing. Alpha testing is generally performed by the in-house or internal programmers or developers. Sometimes on exceptional circumstances, alpha testing is performed by the client or any other stranger. When alpha testing is completed and this testing version is delivered or release, then this release release of alpha testing is also known as the ‘Alpha Release’.

Normally in the alpha testing phase  software testers executes all types of testing like smoke testing, system testing, integration testing, usability testing, functional testing, regression testing, security testing, sanity testing, performance testing etc. After completion of alpha testing no more characteristics or features can be increased to the application or software.

    Beta Testing:-

Beta testing is performed by the various end users ahead the delivery, If there will be any change request then that would be resolved if user grants any feedback or logs any bug or defects. After completion of beta testing the release is also known as the beta release. Beta testing is also determined as the ‘pre-release-testing’.

The main purpose of the beta testing is to receive the feedback from the dissimilar groups of the clients and also verify the consistency of the product or application in dissimilar types of hardware and networks.

    Gamma Testing:-

Normally gamma testing is performed when application is prepare for the delivery or release with the specific requirements. For this type of testing there is no need to performed in-house testing endeavors or activities. After this testing the application or product is approx prepare for the final delivery or release. Gamma testing is the third phase of testing. This is mainly used for the security purpose. Normally, nowadays gamma testing is not used in the product development. This testing is becoming a trend of the past.
