Defect Detection Efficiency (DDE) In The Software Testing:-
DDE or Defect Detection Efficiency is the number or the count of the bugs or defects throughout a phase that are inserted throughout the same phase divided by the complete number of bugs inserted throughout the same phase.
Formula For The DDE:- Formula for the defect detection efficiency is mentioned below --
DDE = ( Number of bugs or defects injected and detected in a phase / Complete number of bugs or defects injected in that phase ) x 100 %
In the above formula percentage (%) is the unit of the outcome.
Descriptions:- Here i am describing the details of few terms --
- Defects:- These defects or bugs should be only confirmed and also stipulatory (means that not only reported or commented)
- Phase:- In the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), there may be any phase where bugs or defects can be inserted and detected. These phase may be like- Requirements, Designing, Coding etc.
Uses of DDE:-
- Defect Detection Efficiency or DDE is normally used for the calculating the quality of the approaches (efficiency of any approach) within the SDLC Software Development Life Cycle, by calculating the degree to which bugs initiated throughout that stage are removed ahead they are sent into next stage.
- For detecting the stage in the SDLC that are the feeble in the terms of quality control and for the concentrating on them.
