    It is a portion of the test plan that documents the tool and process used to record and track defects. It describes team resources involved in the defect tracking process and the categories used to prioritize defects.


    Some of the sample categories for prioritizing defects are:


    1.Critical:- Denotes an unusable function i.e, a defect causing a general protection fault or a change in one area of the application causing a problem elsewhere.


    2.Severe:- Represents a function that is not working as required or an interface object that is not working as presented.


    3.Annoyance:- Represents a function that is working, but not as quickly as expected or does not conform to standards and conventions.


    4.Cosmetic:- Represents functions that are not critical to system performance, such as misspelled words, incorrect formatting and vague or confusing error messages or warnings.
