Exploratory Testing:-
Exploratory testing is about exploring, finding out about the software, what it does, what it doesnt do, what works and what doesnt work.
The plainest definition of exploratory testing is test design and test execution at the same time without formally documenting the test conditions, test cases or test scripts.
This is the opposite of scripted testing (predefined test procedures, whether manual or automated).
In some situations, it can be orders of magnitude more productive than scripted testing.
Exploratory testing is a hands-on approach in which testers are involved in minimum planning and maximum test execution.
Advantages:
- It doesnt require much preparation for testing as we dont have documents for testing.
- This type of testing saves time as all task are done simultaneously like Testing, Designing test scenarios and executing test scenarios.
- Tester can report many issues due to incomplete requirement or missing requirement document.
Disadvantage:
- Few issues cannot be catch in this type of testing.
- Testers have to remember the scenario with proper steps what he is executing because everytime when bug is found tester have to report a bug with proper steps otherwise he (tester) will faces difficulty to perform the exact manner especially for new found bugs..
