Once the application is deployed, the application system remains in service for years or even for decades. During the service period the operational environment of the system is corrected or updated. Testing the application when it is deployed on the system and ready for use is known as maintenance testing.

To change the release plan of an application we start maintenance test process which begins with the receipt of the application. To generate a Test Plan and for test cases execution the test manager consider the new requirements specified for the application or the product.

Once the maintenance testing is completed the test cases, test documents and all the test environment details are stored in a centralized repository for reuse.
