How can we define a testing policy ?
Testing Policy is the planning activity to test the application software improvement, testing Policy is an important part of any organization or company. Testing policy may be different for many organization. These testing policy vary on each organization work structure.
The important steps for defining a testing policy for any organization includes following phases:-
1.Definition.
2.How to Achieve.
3.Evaluate.
4.Standards.
Definition:- This should be the first step of the testing policy in any organization. All organizations should declare one definition for the testing. Definition should be unique within the organization. If testing definition will be same for all, then mindset will be same for all in the organization.
How to Achieve:- This is second step of the testing policy. Under this we check how we are forwarding to achieve our goal or objective. Is there going to be any testing council ? Is there any mandatory test plan which is important to execute, etc?
Evaluate:- After the execution of any testing in project we evaluate how testing has added value to the project?, for evaluation of any project we derive defect matrices per phase and per programmer.
Standards:- We derive certain standards which we need to achieve by testing, For example if we face more than 25 defects per KLOC(Kilo Lines of Codes) then it will be consider as below standard and a proper code review is to be done.
