The days of static resumes are quickly coming to an end. It’s about time. After all, everything else has gained an interactive element, so why shouldn’t we help human resource navigate our resumes more easily and more quickly?

Of course, if you’re going to go interactive, you want to make sure that you do it correctly. For using a new technology poorly is worse than not using a technology at all. For that reason, I thought I’d collect together in one place the best apps out there to make your resume both interactive and absolutely awesome.

In that way, you’ll get the best of both worlds. A resume that people will sit up and take notice of and wow in appreciation (rather than bursting out in laughter).

Hiration's state-of-the-art personalized career assistant comprises an AI-powered resume builder containing 30+ designs and 150+ ready-to-use content templates prepared by industry experts. You also have access to their Line Spacing feature (a feature not present in any such platform right now) allowing users to uniformly increase/decrease spacing across the entire document in a single click.

You can then use the AI review to get an instant feedback across bullet-level, section-level and resume-level. And if that's not enough, you can use their never-before-seen Next Word Prediction engine to incorporate professionally written content in your resume, along with an Autobold feature to instantly bold keywords in all points! You can then use their Cover letter builder, personal website builder and Job Board to put that stellar resume of yours to use. Here's to consolidating the entire jobsearch process on a single platform!

You want to create something interactive and beautiful? Then you can certainly do worse than With this software package you can create stunning resumes in minutes. How does that happen?

Well, they link up with your linkedin and then create a resume based on that. Of course, you’ll have to tweak a great deal (the less up to date your linkedin the more you’ll have to tweak) but it’s nice that they’ve taken care of the basics in that way, don’t you think?

    Visual CV

Okay, the name isn’t that inspiring, but Visual CV makes up for that by letting you quickly import your resume from different places like linkedin, word and other software platforms.

What’s more, they end up looking very attractive, with some great visuals, tables and other bits of data to emphasize the positive (and perhaps hide the negative).

Behance has some of the best interactive resumes out there. Here you can include links to your social media, as well as to other sources so that people can easily and intuitively check up on the companies that you’ve worked for, what you did there and some of the projects that you’ve completed.

In this way you can emphasize what is important as well as make sure that what you’re claiming is backed up by actual facts – making you all that much more likely to get through the first few rounds and into the hands of the people who are actually making the decisions.

    Resume Genius

Not that much of an expert in the resume building department? Then check out Resume Genius, which is all about offering you as much guidance and help as possible to make sure that you’ve got something that you can actually send off at the end of the day.

They pride themselves on helping those that aren’t too familiar with the process make sure that they get everything done and put in the right place. And though that might be a little annoying to the more experienced among you, it might still be worth trying out.

After all, are you sure you know everything there is to know about the resume building enterprise? If you hesitated a moment before you said ‘yes’ there, then give Resume Genius a try and make sure that you do and it’s not just wishful thinking.

Heck, while you’re at it give it to somebody to edit through. Ask an eagle-eyed friend to give it the once over. Don’t have anybody like that, then get these websites to take a look. Sure, it might cost you a bit of money, but it isn’t that expensive. What’s more, as one spelling mistake can mean the difference between your resume heading towards the next level or the shredder, that sounds like money well spent if you ask me.

    My Resume

This is another great app for the apple lovers out there, which will make building your resume a breeze. What’s more, as My Resume is free you can try it out and make sure that I’m not just saying that. I’m sure you won’t need to, though. For it really is quite fantastic, which is something that 23 thousand other users agree with. The app has a rating of 4.5 on Apple, which is pretty impressive, don’t you think?

    Resume Now

Career Live has created this fantastic resume builder that can help you pull all your statistics and information together in the blink of an eye. In fact, they say that they can create  resume for you in one click!

Now that’s pretty good (though hard to believe).

Even if it takes a few more clicks, with Career Live’s reputation, you are bound to have a good tool at your disposal. What’s more, it creates cover letters for you as well, which means that it’s got a nice double whammy going for you. Add to that that it’s free and you’re sure to have a winner on your hands with Resume Now.

    Last Words

The CV business is a wonderful mix of old and new technology. While around the periphery the landscape has changed dramatically, at its root it’s important that you do the same things correctly and well.

So yes, embrace the interactive revolution, but make sure that you follow all the old rules as well. Edit your work, make sure that everything important is easy to find and for God’s sake, make sure that people can find you easily by giving them a clear email address and making it clickable!
